Promodh is a very friendly guy. But manager gave us wrong room and they offered services they didn' t deliver. That's why I asked for a discount via WhatsApp, but they didn't even answer. We booked 2.5 floor room but it was occupied by other guests. A switch the day after would have been possible, but senseless for a stay with 2 nights... WiFi: terrible and NOT available in the rooms, only in the lobby. Lights: more then 50% without function Cleanliness: horrible - See pictures

It is a beautifully renovated and charming bungalow. Central location. Very courteous staff. It is true that our bathroom was dark (no outside window) and (as in many places in Sri Lanka I found) with a bit of a musty but not overwhelming odour - I suppose in that climate those places never really dry out totally. Returning on our first afternoon, I found the rooms not made - after requesting housekeeping, they were cleaned immediately - no housekeeping issues subsequently. Breakfast was very good. Nice touch to have a pool table for guests' use. I would visit again.

We decided to stay here because of the colonial flair. The house itself is very nice with 3 rooms only. We had a family rooms which had a double bed on the ground floor and another double bed on the second floor. Room is huge and reall nice if you sleep upstairs. Unfortunately the room and bathroom was not very clean and the bathroom was quite dark and cold. No cleaning in a 3 days stay. Breakfast was ok but nothing compared to other breakfasts we had in Sri Lanka. The two guys maintaining the bungalow are really curteous! Summed up its not worth the money (and it was not cheap).

Hidden gem at the heart of the city...Two boys who run the Bungalow Lahiru and Banuraj did everything they could to make our stay memorable... Beautifully decorated rooms while maintaining old world heritage Definitely recommend..On a constructive feedback, Heaters in the rooms needs to upgrade or needs to add more as the existing once are not enough to maintain the warm climate.

Bungalow 1926 is not what would you expect from bungalow. It is rather a nice boutique hotel with authentic decorations and modern bathrooms. The room was clean and neat. However, the real difference was made by staff. The maître d'hôtel was always ready to help and cook was very enthusiastic, what also reflected in his cooking - excellent. Whenever we could, we ate at the "bungalow". Overall we had a very nice experience and felt like at home far from home.
